A Few Years Ago…

I was living in the UK at the time…

I had no one to show me the right way to learn skills…

I had no one to show me the right way to train strength…

And I was working and studying at the time so I couldn’t just practice skills all day long…

This meant I couldn’t learn skills fast…

There’s a stupid myth out there..that the only way to learn skills is just practice, practice, practice…

… Well sometimes that doesn’t work

And if you want to learn skills like planche or handstand pushups in 3-4 months, it’s almost never the answer...

I know, because I tried.

I gave it everything I had.

I gave it my BEST shot.

And it didn’t work.

Because I played by the rules and I did everything right...

I Ended Up Being Plateaued And I Hated It…

I hated it because I spent so much time, energy on effort on learning skills…

I had dreams of being a calisthenics beast...I wanted more out of life...

...and doing 10-step progressions wasn't going to work.

So I did what everyone else out there does in this situation.

I started looking for a way out.

I looked everywhere and a few months later I found it.

I stumbled upon a group of Russian calisthenics athletes who talked about how learning skills becomes way easier when you build strength first…

And they were building strength by just doing 2 exercises and 2 sets per session…

This was a cool concept to me, and as I researched more and more I found that most of these athletes were just like me.

They also struggled for a long time to learn skills, and some of them were tall (which makes it harder to learn skills).

The only difference was that they focused on strength instead of skills… which in turn made it far easier for them to learn skills.

Low Volume Strength Training Is One Of The Most Legitimate And Easy-To-Use If You Want To Learn Skills Fast

Just think about it:

  • Skills require you to control your bodyweight and float your body in the air as if you weigh nothing… don’t you think you have to be STRONG to do that? Doing bodyweight training (progressions) is the most ineffective way to build strength.
  • Why should you have to spend years to “master” ONE skill when you use the same muscle groups for every single skill? Barseagle athletes are able to learn every skill in the book by building STRENGTH in all the right places (including the legs)
  • Do you want to train for STRENGTH, or for endurance? If you want strength, then all you need to do is consistently add weight to your sets with a good progressive overload method… it doesn’t matter how many “reps” you do.
  • Have you noticed that most guys who master calisthenics skills are small and have short legs? This only shows that the common methods are ineffective… because being light makes it WAY easier to learn skills.
  • If you don’t have a system for consistently increasing the weight of your sets, then how can you consistently increase your strength? You need a predictable method to increase the weight consistently.

A Few Years Ago…

I was living in the UK at the time…

I had no one to show me the right way to learn skills…

I had no one to show me the right way to train strength…

And I was working and studying at the time so I couldn’t just practice skills all day long…

There’s a stupid myth out there..that the only way to learn skills is just practice, practice, practice…

I know, because I tried.

I gave it everything I had.

Because I played by the rules and I did everything right...

Low Volume Strength Training Is One Of The Most Legitimate And Easy-To-Use If You Want To Learn Skills Fast

Just think about it:

  • Skills require you to control your bodyweight and float your body in the air as if you weigh nothing… don’t you think you have to be STRONG to do that? Doing bodyweight training (progressions) is the most ineffective way to build strength.
  • Why should you have to spend years to “master” ONE skill when you use the same muscle groups for every single skill? Barseagle athletes are able to learn every skill in the book by building STRENGTH in all the right places (including the legs)
  • Do you want to train for STRENGTH, or for endurance? If you want strength, then all you need to do is consistently add weight to your sets with a good progressive overload method… it doesn’t matter how many “reps” you do.
  • Have you noticed that most guys who master calisthenics skills are small and have short legs? This only shows that the common methods are ineffective… because being light makes it WAY easier to learn skills.
